It’s not just you.

The number of women freezing their eggs has doubled in the past 5 years. That’s tens of thousands of us every year, choosing the path of action over luck when it comes to having options for the future.
“I’m 36, and still need to meet the right person and settle down with them. When we’re ready, I want us to be able to start a family. And if he never comes along, I can decide to be a single mom.”
Susanna, 36
“I don’t know if I’ll ever use them, but I knew I wanted to preserve my best eggs while I had them to have as many options as possible in the future.”
Monica, 33

Why now is always
the right time

If you decide to use them later, your frozen eggs will need to be thawed, fertilized, and developed into healthy embryos. High quality eggs have the best chance of surviving the process, but not every egg will make it.

Age is a significant factor in egg quality. The older you are when you freeze your eggs, the more eggs you’ll need for a good chance of having a child. For some, that may take more than 1 cycle of egg freezing.

Can I have multiple egg freezing cycles?
plus icon in circle

Yes! After you have an initial consultation and have your fertility tested at your chosen clinic, you and your doctor will decide on the target number of eggs you want to freeze, and how many cycles you may need to get there.

Is egg freezing safe?
plus icon in circle

Yes. Egg freezing is common, safe, and is no longer considered an experimental procedure.

It’s also becoming far more common. Over the past few years, it’s grown nearly 30%, with 20,000+ cycles done each year. You likely know someone who’s frozen her eggs — she just may not have told you about it!

Why get medication with Gaia?
plus icon in circle

We’ll handle all the administrative back-and-forth and cap your costs. Every clinic handles medication differently, and many ask you to source medications, compare prices at multiple specialty pharmacies, and coordinate buying and shipping all the medication to your home yourself. When you get your medication through Gaia, we’ll handle everything for you at a fixed cost to make it more affordable.

What is egg storage, and do I need it?
plus icon in circle

Once you freeze your eggs, they need to stay in liquid nitrogen tanks until you’re ready to use them.

What is the process if I decide to use my frozen eggs in the future?
plus icon in circle

An embryologist will thaw eggs and fertilize them with sperm, either from a partner or donor, in the hope of creating healthy embryos. Those embryos can be stored or transferred to the uterus to carry just like a “regular” pregnancy.

Nice to see you.
