You deserve a path to parenthood.
Today, we can't offer everyone a Gaia Plan — partly due to eligibility criteria dictated by our insurance partners, partly because we need to manage our own financial risk to stay in the business of helping our Members — but we can promise we work every day to expand access.
There are some clear cut-offs
We cannot guarantee you’ll get a Gaia Plan if you meet all the criteria below. But if you don’t, we will sadly not be able to offer you a plan today.
Body mass index (BMI)
If you're planning on carrying out the pregnancy, your body mass index needs to be below 35.
Because clinics have traditionally imposed a BMI limit, there isn’t enough data (yet) for us to design plans outside of this range and get approval from our insurers. Since launching Gaia, we’ve been able to move our BMI limit from 30 to 35, and will continue to gather evidence to further improve access.

Credit score & affordability
Before we give you your loan, we need to make sure that you won’t be put into a tough financial position if and when you come to repay your cycle costs.
When you complete your credit profile, we will run a "soft" credit check and affordability check to give you your personalised interest rate and make sure the plan is fair and affordable for you. A "hard" check will only be run when you sign your Membership Agreement.
